Hebrews 10 — Having Boldness to Enter Into the Holiest By the Blood of Jesus
The law having a shadow of good things to come can never with those sacrifices make the comers thereunto perfect. Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me... Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. This Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God. For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. Their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. Now where remission is, there is no more offering for sin. Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering. Let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works. Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together.

Perfected for ever. The decisive verse on the sufficiency of Christ's atonement. The believer's standing before God is settled — perfected, for ever.
Them that are sanctified. The progressive process meets the perfect status. We are being made holy; in Christ we are already perfected. Both are true; the second is the ground of the first.
Let us draw near. The first of the chapter's three let us exhortations. Draw near, hold fast, consider one another. The Christian's posture summarized.
Full assurance of faith. Not tentative, not anxious. The believer is given full assurance because the Mediator has done the work. To draw near with anything less is to misread the cross.
Consider one another. The Christian life is observed and observing. We are to study each other — not to criticize but to provoke unto love and good works.
Provoke. A strong word. We are to be gospel irritants in the right direction — pushing each other toward love we would not have produced alone.
The verse that funds Christian gathering. Some had drifted from meeting; the writer commands its continuance. Christian solitude as a lifestyle is foreign to the New Testament.
So much the more, as ye see the day approaching. The closer to His return, the more we gather. The end-times instinct toward independent piety is the opposite of the verse's instinct.
Verses 19-25 are the chapter's practical heart. Draw near, hold fast, consider one another. Three commands you can apply this week. Pray with confidence. Stick with your confession in the conversation that costs. Show up for the believer who needs to be provoked unto love. The chapter is not theory; it is a calendar.
Chapter 10 closes Hebrews' priestly argument. Christ has offered the one sufficient sacrifice; He has sat down at God's right hand; the way is open; the assurance is full. Every promise of the new covenant rests on Him. The believer comes to God through His blood and His flesh, the veil torn open by His body. Everything Hebrews has been arguing arrives at let us draw near.
One sacrifice for sins for ever. The completeness of Christ's offering. One does the work that millions could not.
Sat down. The most theologically loaded verb in Hebrews. The Levitical priests stood; Christ sat. The seat is the throne of finished work.
