Psalms 84 — A Day In Thy Courts Is Better Than a Thousand
How amiable are thy tabernacles, O Lord of hosts! My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the Lord. The sparrow hath found an house. Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee. Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well. A day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

A day... than a thousand. The math of grace. One day with God outweighs a thousand elsewhere.
Doorkeeper. The lowest place in His house exceeds the highest place outside it.
Verse 10 calibrates your day-counting. One in His courts > a thousand in worldly tents. Make sure the courts have at least one of your days.
Christ is the temple where God meets man (John 2:21). The courts the psalm longs for are the dwelling He provides.
Amiable — lovely, dear. The believer's affection for God's house.
A test of devotion. Does the place of God's presence draw you with affection, or is it duty?
