Revelation 19 — King of Kings, and Lord of Lords
Alleluia from a great voice — Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God. The marriage of the Lamb is come; His wife hath made herself ready, arrayed in fine linen — the righteousness of saints. Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. Heaven opens — a white horse; He that sat upon him called Faithful and True. His eyes as a flame of fire; on His head many crowns. A name written that no man knew but Himself; vesture dipped in blood; His name called The Word of God. On His vesture — KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. The beast and the false prophet cast alive into the lake of fire.

Marriage supper of the Lamb. The destination of the church. The relationship between Christ and His people is not a contract; it is a marriage, consummated in this supper.
Blessed are they which are called. The invitation lists are made up; the called are the blessed. The chapter's blessing rests on the included.
Faithful and True. The titles of Christ as the One whose word and character do not fail. The world's ages of broken promises are answered by His name.
In righteousness he doth judge and make war. The justice and the war are joined. He is not a Christ who fights in righteousness or unrighteousness — only the one. The judgments of the chapter are the form of His righteousness.
The triumphant title. Whatever earthly authority has worn the title, the Lord of Revelation 19 is the only One to whom it finally belongs.
The capitalization in the KJV stands the title out from the rest of the page. The verse asks every reader to acknowledge the only One whose name fits the inscription.
Verse 9's blessing is your present possession. Called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. The invitation has been sent and accepted. Live like one preparing to attend the wedding — clothed in the righteousness of Christ, looking for the day, expecting the seat at the table. The supper is sure; the bride is being readied.
The chapter is the unveiling of Christ as King and Bridegroom. He marries His church; He rides forth as the Word of God; He bears the name KING OF KINGS. Every page of the Bible has been moving toward this Christ. The book's climax is His arrival.
The Lord God omnipotent reigneth. The single sentence the whole book has been building toward. Not will reign — reigneth. The reign is announced as present, even as it becomes visible.
The multitude, the waters, the thunder — three images of overwhelming sound. Heaven's acclamation is not polite; it is total.
