Luke 8 — Where Is Your Faith?
Jesus preaches the kingdom; certain women minister to Him of their substance. The parable of the sower. No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it. His mother and brethren — my mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it. The storm stilled — where is your faith? The Gerasene demoniac — Legion cast into swine. The woman with the issue of blood — thy faith hath made thee whole. Jairus' daughter raised — Maid, arise.

A redrawing of family. The deepest tie to Christ is doing the will of God, not biological proximity.
Hear... and do. The two are joined. Hearing without doing is not the family mark; doing without hearing is impossible.
Where is your faith? Not a denial that they had any, but a search for where it had gone in the storm. Faith does not vanish; it gets misplaced.
A diagnostic for panic. When fear rises, where is your faith? It has not been destroyed; it has dropped out of view. Bring it back.
Daughter. The only place in the Gospels Christ addresses a woman thus. She had been an outsider; He places her in His family.
Thy faith hath made thee whole. The hem was the contact; the faith was the channel; the power was Christ's. He honors the reaching by acknowledging the reach.
Verse 25 is the storm question for the believer. Where is your faith? When the wind rises and the boat fills, the faith is somewhere — it has not been canceled. Find it; address it to the One who can still the wind. The storm is the chapter's setting; the misplaced faith is the chapter's problem.
Luke 8 stacks Christ's authority — over the seed-soil interaction, over wind and waves, over Legion, over death and uncleanness. Whatever rebels in nature or person, His word commands. The chapter ends with a child raised, an outcast named daughter. Every domain bows.
Honest and good heart. The condition of fruitful hearing. The seed is the same; the soil is what differs.
With patience. Fruit-bearing takes time. The good-soil hearer is not the fastest; he is the longest. Slow growth in a steady direction is the model.
