Romans 10 — Whosoever Shall Call Upon the Name of the Lord Shall Be Saved
Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. They have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? how shall they hear without a preacher? So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

The classic conversion verse. Two requirements — confession and belief; one Lord — Jesus; one event — His resurrection; one result — salvation.
Confess with thy mouth. Public confession is part of salvation's evidence. The believer who refuses to acknowledge Christ has not yet finished believing.
Joel 2:32 quoted. Whosoever — no ethnic, social, moral restriction. The call upon His name is the universal door.
A verse to bring to any honest seeker. The condition is calling, not credentials.
The mechanism of faith. Hearing the Word produces it. Faith is not summoned from within; it is wakened by the Word from without.
A motivation for preaching, Bible reading, and gospel sharing. The Word is the appointed instrument. Where it is silent, faith does not spring up.
Verse 17 explains why preaching, teaching, and sharing the Bible matter. Faith comes by hearing. Whoever you wish to see saved must hear the Word from someone. Be a Word-bringer. The Spirit uses what is spoken to wake faith.
Romans 10 puts Christ at the center of salvation's offer. He is the end of the law, the Lord to confess, the One on whom believers call, the message of preachers. Whatever the chapter says about Israel's past or present, salvation runs through the same Person for everyone.
Christ is the end of the law. Both goal and termination. The law's purpose was Christ; with Christ come, the law as a way of righteousness ends.
For the believer, Christ is the law's fulfillment. We do not need to keep adding law-righteousness to Christ-righteousness. The transaction is complete in Him.
