Revelation 11 — The Kingdoms of This World Are Become the Kingdoms of Our Lord
John is told to measure the temple. Two witnesses prophesy 1260 days in sackcloth; they have power to shut heaven, to turn waters to blood. The beast from the pit kills them; their bodies lie in the street three days and a half; the world rejoices. The Spirit of life enters them; they ascend. The seventh angel sounds — The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

Three days and an half — an echo of resurrection. What the world celebrated as final defeat became God's public vindication.
A pattern repeated. The faithful witness is silenced, mourned, mocked — and resurrected. The cross is shaped, in lesser keys, in His servants.
The chapter's climax — the kingdoms' transfer. Heaven announces what earth is about to witness: Christ reigning over all.
For ever and ever. No succession, no rival, no end. The kingdom long awaited and tested through the trumpets arrives in fact.
Verse 15 belongs in your imagination on every discouraging news cycle. The kingdoms of this world are become — the verb is past in heaven's grammar. The shift is settled even if not yet seen. Live in light of the announced takeover.
Christ's reign is the chapter's headline. The witnesses witness to Him; the beast attacks His witnesses; the resurrection pattern repeats His; the trumpet announces His kingdom. Whatever the immediate trouble in the chapter, the long arc is His enthronement.
Power... unto my two witnesses. They are His. Whatever role they fulfill, they do not act on their own; they bear His witness.
In sackcloth. The witnesses mourn. The prophet's message in a corrupt age is borne in grief, not triumphalism. Truth tells in tears.
