Psalms 56 — What Time I Am Afraid, I Will Trust In Thee
Be merciful unto me, O God: for man would swallow me up. What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me. Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle. In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me. For thou hast delivered my soul from death.

Tears in thy bottle. God collects what you cry. Nothing is wasted.
A comfort for the weeping. He notices each tear; He keeps them.
Verse 3 is six words to memorize. Speak them when fear arrives. Acknowledge; trust.
Christ wept (John 11:35). The God who collects tears is the Father whose Son wept too.
Six words. The verse honors the fear and redirects it. Fear is not denied; it is addressed.
A pattern. Acknowledge afraid; act trust. The two motions are simultaneous.
