Psalms 49 — God Will Redeem My Soul From the Power of the Grave
Hear this, all ye people: give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world. They that trust in their wealth — none of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him. For the redemption of their soul is precious. Like sheep they are laid in the grave. But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Be not thou afraid when one is made rich. For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away.

What money cannot do, God will. The resurrection hope, anchored in His receiving.
He shall receive me. The personal receiving at death. The believer is not lost; he is welcomed.
Verse 15 is the chapter's reversal. Money cannot do it; God will. The verse is the hope for the believer facing death.
Christ paid the ransom money could not (1 Peter 1:18-19). The redemption of v.7 happens through His blood.
The limit of money. Wealth cannot buy a soul out of death. The richest man cannot ransom his brother.
A clarification of what money can and cannot do. It can buy bread; it cannot buy years past the appointment.
