Psalms 29 — The Voice of the Lord Is Powerful
Give unto the Lord, O ye mighty, give unto the Lord glory and strength. The voice of the Lord is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth. The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty. The voice of the Lord breaketh the cedars. The Lord sitteth upon the flood; yea, the Lord sitteth King for ever. The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace.

The chapter's storm ends in peace. The Lord whose voice shatters cedars gives strength and peace to His own.
The verse pairs strength and peace. The strong are at peace because their strength is not theirs.
Verse 11 is a benediction. Pray it over yourself or someone today. The same God who thunders gives strength and peace.
Christ is the One who stilled the storm with His voice (Mark 4:39). The voice of the Lord in the psalm is the voice of the Word made flesh.
Seven references to the voice of the Lord in the chapter. The same voice that thunders in storms speaks tenderly to His own.
