Research & Evidence

This library does not collect only sources that agree with one conclusion. It lays out — for every claim — the biblical text, the archaeology, the manuscripts, the ancient sources, the science, the peer-reviewed scholarship, the competing interpretations, and what can honestly be concluded. A verdict here is about a historical or scientific claim, never about faith.

A word about verdicts: Every verdict answers one question: does the specific factual claim hold up? “Unsupported” or “disputed” is never a statement about God or the Bible's meaning — only about the evidence for that particular claim. Where scholars disagree we say “disputed”; where no peer-reviewed support was found we say so.
How to read a verdict
Supported
The specific factual claim is well supported by the evidence.
Disputed
Qualified scholars genuinely disagree; the evidence is read more than one way.
Unresolved
A real open question with no established answer.
Unsupported
The evidence does not support the specific claim (and often points elsewhere).
Misattributed
The claim is credited to a source that did not actually say it.
