Psalms 63 — My Soul Thirsteth For Thee
O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is. To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary. Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness. When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.

Better than life. A line for funerals and martyrs. The lovingkindness exceeds the value of breath itself.
A test of allegiance. If forced to choose between life and Him, which would you keep? The chapter's answer is His lovingkindness.
Verse 1's early sets the day's priority. Seek Him before the noise begins; the dry land of life becomes the address of seeking.
Christ thirsted on the cross (John 19:28). The dry-land thirst of the psalm finds its fullest expression in Him.
Early will I seek thee. Priority and intensity. Before the day fills, the seeking.
Dry and thirsty land. The chapter is composed in spiritual drought; the longing is sharpened by the desert.
