Psalms 28 — The Lord Is My Strength and My Shield
Unto thee will I cry, O Lord my rock. Hear the voice of my supplications. Blessed be the Lord, because he hath heard the voice of my supplications. The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth. The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed. Save thy people, and bless thine inheritance: feed them also, and lift them up for ever.

Verse 7's chain reaction is yours. Trust; receive help; rejoice; sing. The fourth and fifth links honor the One who supplied the first three.
Christ is the strength and shield. The chapter's anointed is the type; the eternal Anointed is the fulfillment.
The verse moves from need to trust to help to joy to song. The Christian life in compressed form.
Therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth. Joy is the proper response to received help; song is the proper expression.
