Psalms 19 — The Heavens Declare the Glory of God
The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul. The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins. Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.

Six descriptions of Scripture in vv.7-9 — perfect, sure, right, pure, clean, true. Each with an effect.
Converting the soul. The Word's saving power. The Bible is not just to be admired; it is to be received unto salvation.
A prayer for the totality of inner life. Speech and thought — what comes out and what stays in.
A pattern for daily prayer. Ask that both expression and meditation be acceptable.
Verse 14 is a discipline for both the public and the private. Pray it before you speak; pray it before you ruminate. Both must be acceptable in His sight.
The heavens declare His glory; the Word converts the soul; the Redeemer is named in v.14. The psalm holds creation, Scripture, and Christ together — three witnesses to one God.
The cosmic sermon. The sky preaches without words. Romans 1:20 builds on this — God's eternal power is seen through what is made.
A reason every culture without the Bible is still without excuse. The heavens have been preaching since creation.
