Psalms 18 — The Lord Is My Rock, and My Fortress, and My Deliverer
I will love thee, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust. The sorrows of death compassed me. In my distress I called upon the Lord. He bowed the heavens also, and came down. He delivered me, because he delighted in me. The Lord rewarded me according to my righteousness. Thou wilt save the afflicted people; but wilt bring down high looks. It is God that girdeth me with strength. The Lord liveth; and blessed be my rock.

His way is perfect. No defect in God's methods. The way may baffle us; the perfection holds.
The word of the Lord is tried. Tested and reliable. Trust it without reservation.
Verse 2 is a prayer of multiplied confidence. Speak the seven titles aloud when fear rises. The accumulation is the comfort.
David's deliverance is a shadow of Christ's greater deliverance. The Rock to which David fled is the Christ who is the rock of the church (1 Corinthians 10:4).
