Psalms 12 — The Words of the Lord Are Pure Words
Help, Lord; for the godly man ceaseth. They speak vanity every one with his neighbour. The Lord shall cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaketh proud things. For the oppression of the poor, now will I arise, saith the Lord. The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

God preserves His own through every wicked generation. The preservation is not the believer's vigilance but God's keeping.
A confidence for hard cultural moments. He has kept His people through worse; He keeps them through this.
Verse 6 anchors your confidence in Scripture. Seven times purified. Whatever the world's critique, the Word of God has been tested as no earthly metal. Trust it.
Christ is the Word made flesh (John 1:14). The pure words of the psalm find their incarnate form in Him.
A test of Scripture. Silver tried in a furnace... purified seven times. The maximum refining. Whatever God has said has been refined past impurity.
A contrast with v.2 — the flattering lips. The world's words are dross; God's are silver.
