Psalms 24 — Who Is This King of Glory?
The earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart. This is the generation of them that seek him. Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.

The question of access. Who gets in? The next verse names the qualifications — clean hands, pure heart.

A picture for every Christian heart. Open the door; let the King come in.
Verse 1 reorders your possessions. Everything in your account, on your shelf, in your custody — His. Steward accordingly.
The King of glory is Christ. He ascended; the doors were lifted; He will return through them again.
The deepest ownership. Not the title-holder, not the government, not the conqueror — the Lord owns the earth and everything in it.
A check on every claim to absolute property. You are a steward of His.
