Psalms 94 — Blessed Is the Man Whom Thou Chastenest
O Lord God, to whom vengeance belongeth. They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless. Yet they say, The Lord shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob regard it. He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Lord, and teachest him out of thy law. The Lord will not cast off his people. In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.

Blessed... chastenest. The verse pairs the unexpected. Discipline is honored as blessing.
A reframe of hard providence. What feels like loss is teaching.
The multitude of my thoughts. The anxious mind. Many thoughts at once, scattered.
Thy comforts delight my soul. The cure for the racing mind — His comforts brought into the multitude.
Verse 19 is the discipline for anxiety. When the thoughts multiply, bring them to His comforts. The delight returns.
Christ is the comforter of the multitude of anxious thoughts (John 14:27). The chapter's prayer is met in Him.
A theological argument from creation. The God who made the ear hears; the God who made the eye sees.
A check on practical atheism. He notices because He made the noticing organs.
