A Roman colony in the highlands of Asia Minor where Paul preached a landmark synagogue sermon on his first journey — not to be confused with Syrian Antioch. The Roman city has been extensively excavated, including a temple of Augustus and a great aqueduct.

Where it is
Central Turkey
Scripture
Acts 13:14-50
What the evidence confirmsThe Roman colony is well excavated and its status and setting fit Luke's account in Acts.
What it does not proveThe sermon and its reception are narrative; the ground attests the city, not the events.
