The village on the road where, Luke says, the risen Jesus walked unrecognised with two disciples and was known to them in the breaking of bread. Its exact site is genuinely uncertain — several candidates (Emmaus Nicopolis, Abu Ghosh, el-Qubeibeh, Motza) each carry old churches — and even the distance from Jerusalem varies between the manuscripts of Luke.
