The village of Mary, Martha and Lazarus, where the Gospels place the raising of Lazarus and a supper before the last week. The Arabic name of the modern town, al-Eizariya, preserves 'Lazarus,' and a traditional Tomb of Lazarus has been venerated here since the fourth century, with churches built and rebuilt over it.
