Daniel 10 — Fear Not, O Man Greatly Beloved
In the third year of Cyrus a thing was revealed unto Daniel. He was mourning three full weeks. In the four and twentieth day of the first month, as I was by the side of the great river, I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a certain man clothed in linen. I Daniel alone saw the vision. Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard. The prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days; but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me. O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong.

A glimpse of spiritual warfare in the heavenly realm. Angelic conflict over nations is real. The believer's prayer participates in that battle.
Michael... came to help. The same archangel of Jude 9 and Revelation 12:7. The Lord assigns reinforcements when His servants are opposed.
O man greatly beloved. The angel's name for Daniel. The verse should remind every burdened believer that he is greatly beloved in the same heaven.
Strength comes through the word spoken. The verse implies that hearing the right word from God is itself a means of strength.
Verse 12 settles the apparent delays in your prayer life. From the first day... thy words were heard. The dispatcher acted instantly even if the messenger took weeks. Do not interpret silence as refusal.
The figure Daniel sees in verses 5-6 closely matches the glorified Christ of Revelation 1:13-15. Whether Christ or an angel sent by Him, the chapter is a glimpse of the heavenly realm in which Christ now reigns and intercedes.
From the first day... thy words were heard. The answer was dispatched on day one; arrival took twenty-one. Delay is not denial in the heavenly economy.
A patience-training verse for unanswered prayer. The angel's long detour does not mean God did not hear.
