Psalms 34 — O Taste and See That the Lord Is Good
I will bless the Lord at all times. My soul shall make her boast in the Lord. O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together. I sought the Lord, and he heard me. They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed. O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him. Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all. He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.

A verse for the wounded. The Lord draws near to brokenness; He does not avoid it.
A comfort against the lie that suffering means God has withdrawn. He is nigh in the broken heart.
Fulfilled in Christ (John 19:36) — His legs were not broken on the cross, in fulfillment of this verse.
A prophetic detail. The Roman soldier's decision was scripted by Scripture centuries before.
Verse 18 is for the broken. He is near. The wound you thought separated you from God is the door He approaches through.
Verse 20 is fulfilled at the cross. Christ's bones were not broken; the psalm anticipated the soldier's spear instead of the leg-breaking club.
Taste. Try Him. Don't reason from a distance. The verse is for the skeptic and the cooled believer alike.
A verse of personal experiment. The Lord's goodness is tasted, not just argued.
