Psalms 35 — Plead My Cause, O Lord
Plead my cause, O Lord, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me. Say unto my soul, I am thy salvation. Let them be as chaff before the wind. They rewarded me evil for good. Lord, how long wilt thou look on? I will give thee thanks in the great congregation: I will praise thee among much people. Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion. Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the Lord be magnified.

Verse 13 may apply to someone in your life. You have prayed for them, fasted for them, mourned with them — and they turned. The Lord saw the original posture; it was not wasted.
Christ's prayers for those who would crucify Him are the fullest version of this verse. Father, forgive them (Luke 23:34).
David interceded for those who later turned on him. The verse documents the betrayal of returned good.
A model of Christ-like love. The very ones we have served may oppose us; the chapter honors the principle of returning good for evil.
