Psalms 65 — Thou Crownest the Year With Thy Goodness
Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in Sion. Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee. Thou stillest the noise of the seas. Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it. Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; and thy paths drop fatness. The pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered over with corn.
“Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; and thy paths drop fatness.”
— Psalm 65:11
- v.1-4 Blessed approach
- v.5-13 God provides the harvest
The agricultural year as a wreath of God's goodness. The harvest is His coronation gift.
A perspective for the seasons. Whatever the headlines, God is still crowning the year with goodness.
Verse 11 reframes your year. Look back at the past months; trace the crown of goodness through them. Thanksgiving rises with the noticing.
Christ is the way of approach (Hebrews 10:22). The blessed of v.4 are brought near through Him.

Election leading to access. The chosen are the ones who approach.
Blessed. Not for being chosen abstractly — for being brought near. The end of election is fellowship.
